I recently got a Fire TV stick and tried to install Netflix on it, however, I ran into an issue and it wouldn’t download. After that I got it downloaded but it wouldn’t install. Finally, I got it working based on the recommendations I found when I researched how to fix it, and here’s what I found…
As a general rule, first restart the Fire TV stick. Got to Settings > My Fire TV > Restart. Wait for the Fire TV stick to power cycle and attempt to download Netflix again. If that does not work then verify that the internet connection to the Fire TV stick is connected.

Failing that, you should check that you have the latest version of the Fire TV stick by checking in the settings if there is a pending update.
In this article I will explain how to check if you have the latest Fire TV stick software update, as well as how to check if the internet connection is working as it needs to. By the end of this article you will know how to get Netflix working on your Fire TV stick. Whether it’s unavailable, won’t download, won’t install, or won’t show up.
Firestick Netflix Won’t Download

You may have located the Netflix app under the apps tab on your Fire TV stick but when you press download nothing happens. To get it working here’s what you need to do:
As a whole, verify that the Fire TV stick is connected to the internet. It is accessed using the Fire TV stick remote. From the Fire TV stick home screen select Settings > Network > then press the play/pause button.
If there are no errors listed there then test the internet by using another device like your smartphone or a laptop. Be sure to use the same Wi-Fi connection that your Fire TV stick is connected to.
火电视棒需要下载的文件the Netflix app over the internet, however, if the internet is not connected properly then it won’t download. Most internet issues can be fixed by restarting the Wi-Fi router. Also, sometimes called a Wi-Fi modem.
When you do that you need to wait 3 to 5 minutes for the modem/router to reconnect to the internet and then try to download Netflix again. If you’re still having issues with your internet then it’s best to contact your internet service provider for example, Verizon.
Restart your Fire TV Stick
A Fire TV stick runs many applications and at times they can crash. As a result, they can cause your Fire TV stick to not function correctly. However, if you power cycle your Fire TV stick it will force all of the apps to close in the background. Then when you turn it back on, Netflix will download as it should.
To restart your Fire TV stick use your Fire TV stick remote. Navigate to Settings > My Fire TV > then select restart. Give it a few mins to restart and then try downloading Netflix again.
Factory reset your Fire TV stick
If you’ve tried all of the above steps and it still isn’t working then you should do a factory reset. The main issue with doing a factory reset is that it will delete any apps that you’ve installed so you’ll need to download them again.
The good news is, it will only take 3 to 5 minutes to download all of the apps again, as they have such a small file size. To do a factory reset on your Fire TV stick hold down the back button. This is the button with a curved arrow facing to the left.
On the remote is the circular black navigation button – shaped like a ring. You hold both the right side of the navigation ring, and the back button at the same time. Hold both buttons until a menu opens. It will give you the option to continue or cancel. Select continue to factory reset your Fire TV stick.

Firestick Netflix Won’t Install

After Netflix downloads it will automatically install in under a minute but for some reason Netflix may hang after it’s downloaded and then won’t install. To get Netflix working on your Fire TV stick you should do the following steps:
If Netflix does not install on a Fire TV stick device then the device should be restarted. This is done by using the Fire TV stick remote to go to ‘Settings’, which is located in the options at the top of the home screen. In the settings select ‘My Fire TV’, then select ‘Restart’.
The Fire TV stick will power cycle. After it’s turned back on and you’re on the home screen attempt to download/install Netflix again. This is done by going to the Apps tab at the top of the menu on the home screen.
Check the power supply
There are a few different kinds of USB ports, and they are not all created equal. A Fire TV stick needs a good amount of power to do all the processing it needs. But, some television USB ports don’t supply enough power.

With a Fire TV stick you have the option to either plug your Fire TV Stick into the USB port on your TV into a power adapter that plugs into the wall. If possible, test to see whether plugging Fire TV stick into a power outlet will allow NetFlix to download.
If the Fire TV stick can’t draw enough power it can cause Netflix to crash as it’s trying to install. A power outlet will supply enough power, however, some USB ports only supply 0.5 amps rather than the 1 amp that it needs.
Netflix App Not Showing up/Available/Found on Firestick

Another issue is that Netflix won’t show up on your Fire TV stick. Here’s what you need to do…
Netflix is not installed by default on all Fire TV sticks. If it is not showing on a Fire TV stick it needs to be downloaded first. It can be downloaded by selecting the App option from the Fire TV stick home screen. Then searching for it in the list of apps.
Once it has been downloaded it will show on your Fire TV stick. There are 4 countries that aren’t supported by Netflix yet which are China, Crimea, North Korea, and Syria.
Some people have attempted to use VPNs to watch Netflix from different countries, however, when you use a VPN your location is hidden. For that reason, your Fire TV stick will only display globally available apps which does not include Netflix. But, it can be rectified by turning off your VPN.
